MANILA (Updated 9:12 p.m.) -- The Philippine football team Azkals lost to Kuwait in the second leg of their 2014 World Cup Qualifiers match held at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium in Manila, Thursday evening.
The Azkals scored a goal at the 47th minute of the game, courtesy of Stephan Schrock. Kuwait’s Yousef Al Sulaiman, however, scored the equalizer in the 62nd minute.
The second goal from Kuwait happened in the 83rd minute, silencing the Azkals and hundreds of fans who watched the game.
With the score 2-1 (5-1 on aggregate), Kuwait will now advance to the third round of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers in September 3.
Fans of Azkals, however, still cheered for the Philippine team despite the loss. (Sunnex)
